Spreading the News of the Prison Strike
The nationwide prison strike has been running since August 21. By now we have word of people inside particiapting in hunger, commissary, and work strikes. Prison facilities and immigrant detention centers in many different states have now joined.
To keep the pressure on and show solidarity from outside the walls, Elm City painted a mural in support of the strike and New York installed giant 4x5 foot posters across Brooklyn and Queens. We hope to spread the word to people around town and send a message to the prison strikers.
From New Haven and New York to the strikers all over the country: May all your demands be met and the white supremacist system come to an end!
