RAM-NYC Helps Bail Out Trans Man Held in Women's Facility
“The bail went to free Jake Quick, a Latino trans man who was incarcerated in the women's facility at Rikers, and faced harassment there.”

RAM NYC participated in a bail-out initiated by comrades in the F2L Network. F2L is an all-volunteer abolitionist network supporting queer and trans people of color who are incarcerated or facing time in New York state through mutual aid, commissary funds, post-release resources, and court and legal support.

Transgender people are disproportionately targeted by police, are ten times more likely to be sexually assaulted while inside and five times as likely to be sexually assaulted by staff specifically. They are routinely denied medical care and forced into lengthy stays in solitary confinement.

The bail went to free Jake Quick, a Latino trans man who was incarcerated in the women’s facility at Rikers, and faced harassment there. Because of the efforts of our abolitionist community, Jake was home with the people who care about him for Christmas.

We will continue to stand by all those who are targeted by the patriarchal state. We will continue to stand by all those who are targeted by the patriarchal state.
