New York Prison Facilities on Strike

New York Prison Facilities on Strike
“RAM stands by the prison strikers during this historic moment, and also intends to build long-lasting relationships through our correspondence, so that we may build together, inside and outside the walls, for a world without white supremacy, prisons, and inhumanity.”

RAM-NYC has received letters from inmates in three different facilities in New York confirming that they are participating in the prison strike. The strikers requested resources to support them through the process. They also requested revolutionary literature; all of which was provided to them.

As of this announcement, we have not received confirmation that their strike activity should be made public, so we are refraining from naming the facilities unless the strikers request they be named.

This news was received in response to a letter writing campaign, for which the group sent 1,000 letters to people inside NY prisons informing them about the nationwide prison strike and the strikers’ demands.

Those participating in the strike, whether publicly or privately, are laudable for standing up to an egregiously brutal system. RAM stands by the prison strikers during this historic moment, and also intends to build long-lasting relationships through our correspondence, so that we may build together, inside and outside the walls, for a world without white supremacy, prisons, and inhumanity.
