January 2018 Bail Out

Liberation Fund Bail Out January 2018
“Despite the coordinated effort of the court/DA and the crippling limitations of state social services, we were able to connect with his family, secure his release, and hopefully keep the white supremacist system out of this family’s home.”

RAM-NYC is proud to announce we recently bailed out a teenager from Rikers Island. The young man, younger than Kalief Browder, was forced onto Rikers Island by prohibitively high bail, causing him and his family immeasurable stress. Despite the coordinated effort of the court/DA and the crippling limitations of state social services, we were able to connect with his family, secure his release, and hopefully keep the white supremacist system out of this family’s home. Instead of continuing his education, spending time with people he cares about, or learning his place in the world, the system was intent on ruining this young man’s life, and we are incredibly pleased to have intervened and freed another criminalized person.

The Revolutionary Abolitionist Liberation Fund bails out one person per month to connect with those criminalized by the racist prison and political system, and build the long term foundations for the abolitionist struggle against slavery in the US.

Until all are free!
